Compliance

As an employer it is important that you register with the Compensation Fund, in order to insure your employees against occupational injuries, diseases and death.

Renewals

All employers must register with the Compensation Fund and pay an annual assessment fee based on their workers' earnings and the risks associated with the type of work being done.

The fund pays compensation to permanent and casual workers, trainees and apprentices who are injured or contract a disease in the course of their work and lose income as a result.

Features & Capabilities

Registration of an Employer

• The Employer will register via the IntelliComp portal.
• The Employer will complete the registration process, including the uploading of all the required documentation and submit to the compensation fund.
• The System will create a dedicated Dashboard for the Employer, this Dashboard can only be seen and utilised by the Employer.
• The dashboard facilitates the following activities:
       • Adding a new User
       • Reporting of Accident Events or Occupational Diseases
       • Uploading of Documentation


Annual Return of Earnings

• The Employer submit the annual return of earnings via IntelliComp.
• IntelliComp will calculate the estimated assessment.
• IntelliComp will submit the ROE's to the relevant COID Administrator utilising the interface.
    • The ROE's will be submitted in accordance with the requirements of:
       • Compensation Fund
       • Federated Employers Mutual
       • Rand Mutual Assurance
• The COID Administrator will recieve the ROE's and finding all in order, will generate a a Statement of Assessment, routing the assessment to the employer for payment.


Reporting of a Claim

• To report a claim the employer will access the dedicated Dashboard.
• Select New Claim.
• Complete the required fields.
• Supporting documents are to be uploaded for onward transmission to the COID Administrator.
    • These will include but not limited to:
       • ID Copy of Employee
       • First Medical Report
       • Proof of Earnings
• The employer will submit the claim directly to the system, which will automatically generate a claim reference number.
• The employer no longer needs to manually fill in the claim form as the system will automatically generate the claim on the required stationery, including signature of the Employer.
• The claim will submit to the COID administrator for review and adjudication
• IntelliComp will update the status of the claim and populate the Claim Number of the COID Administrator.
• The employer will have direct access to a dedicated COID Administrator.


Medical Service Providers

• via the IntelliComp Medical Portal, the MSP will have access to capture medical reports online, the eport will transcribe onto the relevant template of the COID Administrator.
• The Medical Report will submit electronically to the appropriate COID Administrator.
    • All Medical Reports will remain linked to the appropriate claim, regardless whether the employee has several COID claims.
    • The Medical Reports will also be utilised to support TTD claims, PD awards and Medical Invoice Billing.
• Medical Service Providers who have treated COID patients will have access to submit their invoices electronically via IntelliComp.
• On reciept of the invoice, IntelliComp will interrogate the invoice content for compliance in terms of treatment codes, ICD10 codes, Medical Reports and treatment descriptions
    • All invoices which pass the compliance testing will be transmitted to the relevant COID Administrator for payment.
       • Payment information will transmit back to the IntelliComp system and be visible to the MSP / Employer / Employee
       • By Screening the invoices for compliance it will reduce the number of rejections, resulting in less queries addressed to the various COID Administrators.
